FX Passes On 'Outlaw Country' & Will Retool And Reshoot 'Powers'

Reported by Outsiders - 12:43 PM 2011.11.18
FX has begun retooling and reshoots on the pilot for "Powers" to keep it alive. The pilot was written by Charles H. Eglee and directed by Michael Dinner based on the graphic novel by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming.

"Powers" is a police procedural set in a world where superpowers are relatively common. It centers on two detectives, Christian Walker (Jason Patric) and Deena Pilgrim (Punch), in a Homicide department that deals with cases involving “powers” (people with superpowers).

FX tried the following procedure on their Nashville-set drama pilot "Outlaw Country" after it too went through tweaking and reshoots on the original pilot.

The crime thriller/family drama set against the backdrop of Southern organized crime and Nashville royalty starred Luke Grimes, Haley Bennett, Mary Steenburgen and John Hawkes.

The pilot was shot last Fall and reshoots happened this past April but the show still didn't have what FX was looking to show.
