Total Recall Falls Short To Dark Knight At The Box Office

"The Dark Knight Rises" comes in at the number 1 spot at the US Box Office for the third week in a row with an estimated take of $36.4 million.

The "Total Recall" remake opens at number 2 with an estimated take of $26 million, and "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days" opens at number 3 with an estimated take of $14.7 million.

"Ice Age: Continental Drift" falls to number 4 with an estimated take of $8.4 million, and the Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn and Jonah Hill comedy "The Watch" rounds out the Top 5 with an estimated take of $6.3 million.

The ten estimated top-producing motion pictures for the weekend, per data collected as of Sunday, August 5, 2012 include:

1. The Dark Knight Rises: $36,440,000
2. Total Recall (2012): $26,000,000
3. Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days: $14,700,000
4. Ice Age: Continental Drift: $8,400,000
5 The Watch: $6,350,000
6. Ted: $5,479,000
7. Step Up Revolution: $5,300,000
8. The Amazing Spider-Man: $4,300,000
