2008 Toy Fair - Mattel - DC Infinite Heroes

Mattel debuted their new line of 3.75" DC Comic based figure line at the 2008 New York Toy Fair. This line is slated to include civilians, army builders, box sets and just about every other character in the DCU. Though the figures shown at Toy Fair were early prototypes, Mattel's Scott Neitlich tells us that these figures will have 6 to 10 points of articulation. Single carded figures will have a SRP of $5.00 and 3-packs $15.99. When asked if there were any vehicles or playsets slated for this line, Scott tells us it is something they are exploring but nothing is confirmed at this time.

Another agreement. So far, Vosloo's casting seems like the most interesting one. It has the right "same yet different" feeling, and in the good way.

I remembered this guy on the commercials for that movie Step it up. He just reminded me too much as some poser that's trying to act all cool and hip hop like. I hope that's not what they're aiming for here. As for Dennis Quaid, I think he can work as Hawk. But as I said before, Chann... read more

[quote name='die fighting x' post='16428561' date='Jan 29 2008, 03:16 PM']I hope this flick bombs. Not just bombs, but crashes and burns...taking everyone involved down with it. That's a horrible thing to say. The G.I. Joe line is going to be intrinsically tied to the movie.

After seeing those pics of Tatum, I take back what I said before. He does look the part and I will give him a chance.

[img] (link) [img] (link) [img] (link) [img] (link) I think he gives off a little bit of Duke vibe. He also playing a helecopter pilot in a Pinkville. A Vietnam war movie directed by Oliver Stone starring Bruce Willis.

Channing Tatum has always played the tough whiteboy role, and that works with this to a point, but he'll have to ditch the gangster accent he usually speaks with. I'm one of the many (or not so many) who doesn't care as much about Duke, so the person who plays him in the film isn't a... read more

I think a young poster boy Duke is just fine. It's Hawk who needs to be grizzled and the experienced teacher, hence why Quaid's a great choice. C Tatum will do fine IMO.

It is an interesting move, but I can see him as playing a young Duke I guess. As far the movie bombing, I do not think so. I do however have a concern on it not having as much attention as the Transformers movie due to the Tranformers 2 movie coming out relatively shortly after the GIJOE movie. T... read more
