Reported by Jay Cochran - 04:17 PM 2011.04.12
THR reports that Ray Bradbury's "The Martian Chronicles" will be headed to the big screen thanks to Paramount Pictures.

The movie which will be based on a collection of short stories written by Bradbury back in the 1940's about humans trying colonize Mars. It will be produced by John Davis.

This is the second time "The Martian Chronicles" will have been developed for film, the first was back in the 80's for a NBC mini-series which starred the late Rock Hudson.

Universal at one time had the rights to do a movie and even had such talent as Steven Spielberg, Michael Tolkin and John Orloff working on it, but it never got off the ground.

No writers have yet to be brought on board for this newest attempt to bring the sci-fi classic to the big screen but we will keep you updated as more details become available.
