'The Blues Brothers' Returning But To The Small Screen?

Reported by Outsiders - 08:55 PM 2011.08.30
Variety is reporting that "The Blues Brothers" are trying to make a comeback and this time on the small screen. Dan Aykroyd and Judy Belushi, widow of the late John Belushi are pitching a television series on the duo of Jake and Elwood Blues.

"The Blues Brothers" started out as a musical act on "Saturday Night Live" in the late 70's which turned into a film in 1980 with John Landis having Jake and Elwood Blues, on a mission from God to save their childhood orphanage. A second movie followed in 1998 but failed at the box office.

The pilot script is said to recast Jake and Elwood with Aykroyd providing the voice of the brothers' parole officer, following the pair on a quest to find their real father.
