ICv2 is reporting that toy company NECA, its distributors, and retailers have been served a cease and desist order from Steve Gerstman Services, Inc., the licensing agent for the Freddie Mercury estate and Queen Productions Limited. The article states that NECA moved to manufacture and distribute a 7" Leather Era Freddie Mercury Figure without approval from the licensing agent, therefore making it a non-sanctioned product. The company has asked that the figures be taken off sale and returned to NECA, where they will be destroyed. NECA has previously produced and released other Freddie Mercury figures that had been approved and licensed.
