Bidding War For Voltron Movie Breaks Out

According to Vulture
, a big Transformers like blockbuster movie for the 80's based Voltron cartoon/toyline could soon be a reality as several deep-pocket investors have expressed interest the lion robot franchise.
Ryan Kavanaugh's deep-pocketed Relativity Media is one of the very interested parties trying to sell itself to World Events Productions, the St. Louis–based company behind the original show.
Word had been that Atlas Entertainment producers Charles Roven (The Dark Knight Rises) and Richard Suckle had been working on a script, and there had even been some concept art that leaked online several months ago, yet until now there seemed to be a shadow of doubt over the Voltron franchise that a movie would never actually happen, mainly due to legal disputes involving who had rights to Voltron. Those disputes however have apparently been settled according to Vulture, and now with big money suiters calling, it is likely only a matter of time before we see another 80's property reborn on the big screen.
For those who can't wait for a movie, don't forget a new cartoon will be debuting on Nicktoons this May and a new toyline is also coming later this year from Mattel.
